SCE - Supply Chain Execution

Joint Project of the EffizienzCluster LogistikRuhr

IT has become an indispensable pillar of efficient logistic. Data volume and complexity are however growing faster than the capabilities to cope with them. The regulation of logistic systems is already undergoing major changes. Auto-ID systems are gaining more importance and enable exceptional precise insights into the current state of a logistic system. They create the basis for a technology that will lead to extensive changes. The joint project “Supply Chain Execution” should provide the basis for the use of self-managed approaches. The potential of Auto-ID technologies plays an important role in order to procure, produce and transport fast, cost-effectively and with as little resources as possible.

Target

Target of the joint project is the development of an overlapping business logistic solution based on a service-oriented platform with the support of mobile devices. The solution regulates the order processing and the material flow decentralized and interoperable. In this way, the goals set are assured constantly and holistically along the logistic process chain. The developments are made exemplarily for the furniture industry. Pilot testing accelerates the cross-industry standardization.

Innovation

Within the framework of the research project, solution modules are developed that can be used universally for the operative acquisition and regulation of the material flow. These modules are provided for the user in a “Plug & Control Center”. Here solutions are developed that also enable the services on mobile devices. With the aid of logistic assistance systems, the “Plug & Control Center” creates an overview of the logistic processes taking place. It determines and visualizes status data of logistic objects and takes over regulation tasks across the network.
