When is standard software sufficient - and when do you need customized software?
In many areas of logistics, standard software offers a proven and efficient solution. It enables quick implementation, covers basic processes and is often cost-efficient. Standard software can be a particularly good choice for industry-standard processes, such as inventory management or the shipping process.
However, there are often special requirements in logistics that cannot be covered by standard software:
- Individual processes: If your processes deviate from the usual standards and require a high degree of adaptability.
- Integration into existing systems: When standard solutions cannot be integrated into your IT landscape without great effort.
- Expandability and scalability: If your company grows or new requirements arise that standard software does not support flexibly enough.
- Use of new technologies: When innovative approaches such as real-time tracking, AI-supported analyses or digital twins are required.
This is where individual software development comes in: It complements existing standard software or replaces it where it reaches its limits.
