Roadmap Predictive Maintenance

Many businesses are being confronted with the challenge of introducing predictive maintenance. In this strategy, data from the operating environment of a machine leads to forecasts of imminent damage so that maintenance measures can be initiated at an early stage. Building a data and knowledge base is essential for predictive maintenance. As well as the technical implementation, the accompanying roadmap is also relevant. It includes potentialsolutions with regard to data quality and quantity, as well as data processing and the development of a predictive maintenance
strategy.

Roadmap

Together with its project partner Nienstedt GmbH, Fraunhofer IML has drawn up a roadmap for building a data and knowledge base for predictive maintenance specifically for a selected machine type. Once the project is completed, the roadmap could serve as a template for other machine types
and businesses.
