Integration of the STILL cubeXX into the SAP HANA Cloud platform

Together with SAP SE and STILL, Fraunhofer IML developed an IoT device adapter for the cubeXX concept industrial truck. The solution was integrated into a web-based transport order management system to demonstrate the technical feasibility of a direct connection to the SAP HANA cloud platform.

Technical implementation and objectives

The aim was to integrate smart devices directly into the SAP HANA cloud platform without the need for additional intermediate systems such as data converters. To achieve this:

• An IoT device adapter developed to connect the STILL cubeXX to the cloud
• Real-time data from the industrial truck is processed and used for transport order control
• A web-based application for managing transport orders integrated
