Join the stakeholder event of the EIT UM project »Shared micro depot for urban pickup and delivery«

2 December 2020 (10:00-12:00 CET) – online event

Please join our S.M.U.D. stakeholder event. This EIT UM project brings together stakeholders already involved or interested in participating in shared micro-depot solutions for urban pickup and delivery. Shared micro depots provide a publicly attractive solution to last mile delivery that are operated for the benefit of urban residents, cities and businesses. Hear about our experiences from the implementation testbeds in Helsinki and Helmond, and the steps executed during the shared micro-depot implementation process. We would appreciate having your input. We would like to interact with stakeholders from cities – e.g., administration, policy, citizens – as well as business – e.g., logistics service providers, shippers, online shops.

Registration

Please register for the online event. You will receive the online link prior to the event via email. The participation is free of charge.

About the project: »Shared micro depots for urban pickup and delivery« (S.M.U.D.)

Urban space is limited and diminishing even more each year. For logistics service providers, retailers, and even urban residents, delivery over the last mile of goods further exacerbates the congestion of these urban spaces. This project addresses today’s inefficient space utilization and seeks to maximize pollution prevention approaches. The S.M.U.D. implementation process was evaluated at two testbeds in the cities of Helmond (NL) and Helsinki (FI). Local stakeholders participated in the testbeds to discuss requirements, drafted concepts, and proposed possible solutions and services with the project partners. Additional support for future micro depots was developed through an implementation roadmap as well as a toolbox with a wide range of solutions and best practices regarding, for example, location planning and selection, functional and architectural design and business models offering services for B2B, B2C as well as C2C.
