This year's EFTA (International Conference on Emerging Technologies and Factory Automation), the 25th annual conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES), brought together industry leaders as well as experienced researchers, developers and practitioners from a wide range of industries, research institutes and universities. The focus of the three-day conference, which took place between the 8th and the 11th September, was on the latest developments and technologies in the fields of industrial and factory automation.
In the spirit of the theme, Jana Jost and Benedikt Mättig presented their paper » Trust and Reputation in Heterogeneous Multi-Agent System for Production Processes Based on the Market Economy«. The paper presents an approach in which software agents fulfill the transport tasks in a production facility. In this framework, the coordination of different agents is managed decentrally via a multi-agent system. The presented approach integrates different aspects of the market economy and puts a focus on the implementation of the human behavior of the agent.
