October 07, 2019

From 2nd to 6th September 2019, the 17th IFIP International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction took place in Paphos, Cyprus. The conference offers exciting insights into the latest developments in the field of User Experience and Automation.

The Fraunhofer IML was represented by Stuart Chapman who introduced the paper “Examining the Effects of Height, Velocity and Emotional Representation of a Social Transport Robot and Human Factors in Human-Robot Collaboration”, which was developed in cooperation with Jana Jost, Thomas Kirks and Gerhard Rinkenauer from IfADo. The evaluation of the study conducted for the paper points out the influence of independent variables such as the size and facial expressions of the social transport vehicle EMILI on the proxemic distances between humans and robots by means of test subjects.
