Enterprise Labs

Rhenus

In cooperation with Rhenus, the Fraunhofer IML started an Enterprise Lab for smart container management. The main focus is on the use of Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) technologies. The lab's aim is the cost-effective and durable installation of central control and recording technologies in the logistics sector.

T-Systems – Telekom Open IoT Labs

In collaboration with Telekom, the Fraunhofer IML opened the "Telekom Open IoT Labs". The scientists and experts are jointly researching Internet of Things (IoT) solutions in the development center, in order to develop them to market maturity after a test phase. The aim is to optimize processes in the manufacturing, logistics and aviation industries by using these technologies.

 

 

Würth Industrieservice - inBin / iDisplay

Würth Industrie Service has been working with Fraunhofer IML at the Enterprise Lab since 2013. Employees of the company have teamed up with IML researchers to develop intelligent innovations. It is a flexible collaboration that allows the company to access the Fraunhofer Institute’s state-of-the art research facilities.

SICK AG - Sensor Intelligence

Sick AG posted the first of its employees from the Logistics Automation business line to work at the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics back in May 2013. The producer of sensors and sensor solutions embarked upon a cooperation agreement with Fraunhofer IML that was to begin with collaborative research at the Enterprise Labs before moving on to the implementation of joint projects with practical applications. DB Schenker - digitalization

The DB Schenker Enterprise Lab for Logistics and Digitalization combines the research and development of Fraunhofer IML with the ground-breaking approach and international alignment of DB Schenker in order to create innovative logistics solutions and process innovations. With a permanent scientific team and its own space, work at the lab is to concentrate on topics such as the Internet of Things, services, Industry 4.0, big data, cloud computing and the transition from process to service. The collaboration was launched at the start of 2015.
