The Project Center Aviation Logistics, located at the Frankfurt/Main airport, is a department of Fraunhofer IML within the division Logistics, Transport, and Environment. Our specialized knowledge has made us the leading experts on logistics in air transport. Our knowledge and expertise has continued to grow over the past 20 plus years through numerous industrial and research projects that we have carried out in aviation logistics on behalf of our customers.

By being part of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft we are able to supplement our branch-specific expertise with expertise from other disciplines when needed, benefit from synergies, and transfer successful solutions from various industrial sectors to aviation logistics. As a service provider of applied research and development, we have proven and applied state-of-the-art methods and tools at our disposal.

Our customers and project partners include airport operators, airlines, aircraft handling companies, aircraft manufacturers, air freight forwarders, and real estate developers. The air transport industry is characterized by a high division of labour, close interlinking of the competition, and collaboration between the market participants. Against this background we serve as a neutral service provider and independent expert.
